Does the way our suburbs are built make it easier or harder to live, work and play on hot summer days?
Join us for a walk, roll, or stroll through a pocket of Fremantle to identify and reflect on what makes heat-safe suburbs and cities.
We will be reflecting on the ways in which existing spaces and structures impact the happiness, health and heat-resilience of our communities — and how local planning can either help to keep us cool OR contribute to the urban heat-island effect.
It's warm out there so remember to be sun safe — slip, slop, slap. We will be walking a distance of approximately 2kms, so wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle!
We do our best to make sure the walking route is accessible for everyone — a walking route will be provided closer to the date, please let us know if you have any concerns. We will be meeting on the Fremantle War Memorial hill, RSVP for the exact meeting spot.
Come along for community reflection, chats, and snacks — and feel free to bring a friend (or doggo) with you!
